The treatment for uterus cancer is as important as its prevention. There are many different treatments are available for cancer which is done according to their type and severity. Usually surgery is done to treat uterine cancer as it is the primary treatment for uterine cancer and approximately 82% of women survive 5 years after diagnosis. Uterine cancer, however, is treated most commonly with a smaller sampling of the potential treatments available for cancer patients. After the diagnosis of the cancer, patients usually begin one or two different forms of therapy.

The diversity, severity, and overall length of treatment time depend completely on the stage and severity of the cancer and the patient’s age, health, plans for the future, etc. The most widespread treatments for uterine cancer are surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and hormone therapy. Surgery involves having a hysterectomy which again involves two categories of treatment i.e. simple hysterectomy and radical hysterectomy. In the simple hysterectomy entire uterus is removed whereas in radical hysterectomy involves the removal of the uterus, surrounding tissues, and cervix. Radiation therapy involves using high-energy radiation to destroy the cancer cells. Chemotherapy involves taking a chain of drugs to kill the cancer cells. Hormone therapy is mainly used to treat patients with endometrial stromal sarcomas. Hormone therapy is not often used and is still being tested.
