Fat Soluble Vitamins Healthy Kids

The body is, similar to a machine. If a machine is kept well oiled, then it runs smoothly. Otherwise, out comes the clanging noise! Similarly, our body also needs to be kept well fed and maintained. By well fed it does not mean to dump it with anything that comes in the eye-sight. It means that nutritious and well balanced foods need to be the primary focus.

To get nutritious food into the system, there must first be an understanding of what they are, what benefits do each of them serve and other such considerations. There are 7 basic forms of nutrition that the body requires. They are:

Proteins: It is essential for the growth and repair of muscles and other body tissues. However, taking in too much of proteins is also not advisable. Quantity of proteins required by your body will largely depend on your body composition, and an expert should be consulted to determine that.

Carbohydrates: They are the main source of energy for the body. However, taking in too much of starchy carbohydrates can have a reverse effect on the body, and instead of providing nutrition, it will only add to the total bulk of the body. Therefore, it is essential to balance the intake of simple and starchy carbohydrates.

Minerals: It is important in the smooth functioning of the body everyday.

Vitamins: It is either fat soluble or water soluble, vitamins play an important part in the chemical processes of the body.

Fats: It is a source of energy, and is important for dissolving the fat soluble vitamins.

Water: Since 60% – 70% of the body is composed of water, therefore it is needless to say how important it is for our body.

Roughage: It is essential for the digestion process of the body.

Apart from these, it is important to look for foods rich in antioxidants. These antioxidants destroy the damaged cells in the body, hence helping you maintain a healthy physique free from illness.

Primarily, due to the daily stress, there may be some lapses in having a proper lunch or dinner. So, another trick to keep a healthy and energetic body is having a nutritious breakfast. Lots of minerals, carbohydrates, vitamin rich fruits, cereals etc. will keep that bounce in your step, and give you the enthusiasm to face all challenges thrown at you.

The following meals throughout the day should be in small portions. Too much stuffing will make you lethargic. However, our body needs a regular inflow of sugar to keep up the energy generation. Have small amounts of dry fruits or nuts ready with you. Take them at regular intervals to refill the energy reserve.

Nutritious diet does not include alcohol. Better to stay away from it. Instead drink lots of water, and occasionally a fruit juice. This is not only healthy, but also tasty. Avoid taking in too much of caffeine as it tends to dehydrate your body.

Good nutrition does not require too much of effort, but it requires some bit of dedication and a change of habits on your part. Nutrition and energy go hand in hand. So make sure that you make the correct choices in your daily routine.
